SCENE 01 / MULTI CAMERA SETUPS
Multi-Camera Setups
Professional live event coverage and multi-camera production across Iceland.
Here is how this works in practice. Multi-camera setups deploy two or more cameras at once to capture full coverage of scenes, events, or performances. From Iceland Airwaves at venues across Reykjavik to Harpa Concert Hall broadcasts and outdoor festivals across the South Coast, this way maximizes shooting efficiency, preserves performance scene matching, and gives editors with many angles from each take.
Here is the short of it. We set up multi-camera configurations with matched camera bodies, synchronized settings, and integrated monitor kit across Reykjavik, Akureyri, and Iceland's filming regions. Our team works alongside the broadcast infrastructure connected to Saga Studios and RVK Studios, with crews skilled from major global shoots and RÚV broadcasts.

On Location
Our multi-camera setups capture stunts, performances and unrepeatable events in Iceland from several angles at once, synchronised across exposed locations from Reynisfjara to the Highlands.
Here is how this works in practice. We engineer multi-camera setups for the moments that happen once and need each angle — stunts, action sequences, live performances, an eruption or a wave at Reynisfjara. Our crews run shared timecode and genlock across each body, match picture profiles so the angles intercut cleanly, and place cameras across difficult Icelandic ground using rigging, remote heads and covered positions. Setups across an exposed location need cabling and mounts that survive wind and spray. Our teams carry weather protection for each camera position.
Here is the short of it. Cold-weather practice runs across: warmed batteries, condensation control when gear moves between heated cars and open air, and crew rotation on exposed plateaus. A camera coordinator keeps operators on cue. We plan camera placement so a single take delivers a full coverage package. We scale from a focused three-camera array to a large synchronised complement, staffing from the skilled Reykjavík crew base and bringing in extra operators and camera gear from the UK and mainland Europe under ATA carnet for larger shoots.
Here is the breakdown. Iceland's draw for multi-camera coverage is the combination of dramatic, unrepeatable subjects and demanding conditions. A subarctic island on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, it gives stunt and action backdrops — the Highlands, glacier ice, the black coastline — and natural events such as geyser eruptions at the Geysir area and, on occasion, active volcanic eruptions, all of which reward simultaneous multi-angle capture. The fast-changing subarctic weather is the central scheduling factor. A multi-camera array, once placed, cannot be fast repositioned, so our crews build weather backup and covered fallback into each plan.
Here is what that looks like on the ground. The seasonal light — long Midnight Sun in summer, a short window in midwinter — shapes how a shooting day is blocked. Filming in covered areas is set up with the Environment Agency of the country. Eligible crew and gear spend can count toward the country's production reimbursement of 25 per cent, rising to 35 per cent for qualifying projects, administered by Film in the country.
FAQ
Live Production Expertise
How many cameras can you deploy?
Here is the breakdown. We often operate setups from 3 to 12+ cameras based on event scale. For major concerts at Harpa or Laugardalshöll, we can deploy extensive camera packages including specialty positions like jibs, roving cameras, and POV units.
Do you provide live switching and direction?
Yes, our multi-camera packages have skilled vision mixers and directors who switch between cameras in real-time, creating a polished live edit. We can deliver a switched program feed, ISO recordings, or both.
Can you live stream our event?
Yes, we give complete live streaming services including encoding, CDN delivery, and platform management for YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, or custom platforms. We can also give satellite uplink for broadcast.
What about IMAG for live audiences?
We give IMAG (Image Magnification) services for concerts and events, feeding live camera coverage to venue screens so audiences can see close-ups of performers and speakers.
Do you have OB van facilities?
We work with pro OB (Outside Broadcast) vans equipped with switching desks, tracking, audio mixing, and all needed infrastructure. Iceland's small but skilled broadcast community supports shoots across the country.
How far in advance should we book?
For major events in Iceland, we recommend booking 6-8 weeks ahead. Iceland's small crew pool and weather considerations mean early planning is key.
