Strætó long-distance bus connects Vik to Reykjavik (seasonal, limited schedule). No local bus service.
Crew tip: Rental vehicles (4x4 strongly recommended) are essential. Highland roads (F-roads) require 4x4 by law. Winter driving conditions can be severe.

No regular taxi service in Vik. This is a remote village.
Crew tip: All crew transport must be arranged via rental vehicles from Reykjavik or Selfoss. Book accommodation in Vik village well in advance — very limited capacity.
Free parking at Vik village and at most natural attractions. Reynisfjara has a dedicated car park.
Limited infrastructure — contact Vik municipality for any road access or parking coordination needs.
Vik to Reynisfjara is 10 km (10 min). Vik to Dyrholaey is 15 km (15 min). Vik to Solheimajokull is 30 km (30 min). Vik to Reykjavik is 180 km (2.5 hours).
