Here is how this works in practice. We connect shoots with VFX artists for projects shooting in Iceland, supporting visual-effects work from on-set oversight through to post integration. We frame the country's VFX skill honestly: the country has a Reykjavík creative community and on-set VFX expertise. But it is not a large-site hub, so heavy compositing and final VFX for major shoots are mostly set up with set up houses abroad. Our VFX artists give on-set oversight — data capture, reference, plate and tracking-marker planning — and post tasks such as compositing, cleanup and integration, working to the production's pipeline.

Here is the short of it. Their value is real knowledge of how Icelandic plates behave: the scale, the high-contrast subarctic light, the textures of ice, lava and black sand that digital elements must match. We scale the buy-in to the project and keep it clear about what is delivered on-island versus offshore.

Productions often come to Iceland precisely so they do not have to create its landscapes in VFX — the glaciers, the volcanic plains, the Þingvellir rift are real, and that authenticity is the point. But VFX still extends those plates with set extensions, creatures and atmospheric work, and on-set VFX oversight is what makes later integration clean. A VFX artist who knows the Icelandic source material — how Vatnajökull's ice reads, how the light falls — delivers work that sits seamlessly in the plate.
