Here is how this works in practice. We place storyboard artists from Iceland's small creative community, most based in Reykjavík and working in both classic panels and digital tools. This includes full animatics with timing and sound. Our storyboard artists work fluently in English with directors, DPs and ADs, and they adapt their output to a production's pipeline — quick concept frames for location planning or detailed shot-by-shot breakdowns for tricky action.

The local pro pool is finite, so for large or fast-turnaround projects we set up extra artists from the UK and mainland Europe under an Iceland-based lead. We also advise on how qualifying Icelandic pre-production and design costs feed the 25% production cost reimbursement, rising to 35% for qualifying larger shoots and TV series.

Here is the breakdown. Iceland makes precise pre-visualisation genuinely valuable. The subarctic, maritime climate produces famously fast-changing weather, near-24-hour daylight under the Midnight Sun in June and only four to five hours of low light in midwinter, while the volcanic Highlands. Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk — are reachable only in summer via F-roads. A storyboard turns a scout of Þingvellir, the black-sand Reynisfjara coast or the Mývatn lava region into a plan a unit can execute inside a narrow window.

Reykjavík is a UNESCO City of Literature — feeds a pool of artists comfortable working from concept to frame. Productions from 'Interstellar' to 'Game of Thrones' depended on tight planning to capture the country's landscapes efficiently.
