For Iceland that means planning around realities other countries do not impose: extreme weather volatility that can close a location with little warning, tight winter daylight that compresses the shooting window, and Highland terrain reachable only by 4x4 super-jeep on summer F-roads.

Here is the short of it. We hold weather-cover options ready, brief crew on the leave-no-trace conduct that covered areas need, and run restoration so a site is returned exactly as found. We set up closely with landowners, city authorities and the Environment Agency of the country where national-park sites are involved, keeping access secure and relationships intact for the length of the shoot and beyond.

Here is the breakdown. Iceland's locations are the reason shoots come. They are also the reason location running here is demanding. Many of these sites lie within covered areas where moss and lava recover only over decades, making careful site running a site-level obligation, not an option. Managing such locations well, holding access, protecting the ground, and keeping a unit safe and productive, takes local knowledge of each site's season, hazards and access rules.
