Here is the breakdown. Iceland is one of the world's most marketable destinations. Travel content has genuine substance to draw on. The Golden Circle links Þingvellir National Park — a UNESCO site, the rift valley and home of the Alþingi founded in 930 AD — with the Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir geothermal area and its erupting Strokkur. The south coast strings together Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, the black-sand beach of Reynisfjara, and the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon with the Diamond Beach.
